In this market environment, sales in the Group's Automotive Equipment Business are expected to decline due to a saturated market of new vehicles on some models in Japan and China and changes in the timing of mass production and, mainly due to the exchange rate of the Chinese yuan and the spread of infectious disease, operations in Wuhan and other production facilities in China decreased significantly, resulting in decreased revenue. Operating income also declined because, in addition to the decrease in sales, costs related to past quality problems exceeded initial forecasts.
As a result, net sales in the Automotive Equipment Business for the current consolidated fiscal year were 309,470 million yen (down 11.0% from the previous year), and operating income was 5,079 million yen (down 83.7% from the previous year).
