Automotive equipment

In the field of automotive equipment, the driving force of the company's development, Stanley has always led the industry, developed and supplied highly reliable products and contributed to a safe and rich “automotive lifestyle.” From an early stage the company began to research and develop HID lamps, attracting attention as a next-generation light source for headlamps, which resulted in the initial application of Stanley’s headlamps for Japanese cars. Taking advantage of its unique optical design and simulation technologies, Stanley developed “MR (Multi-Reflector) headlamps” whose reflectors have a built-in “light distribution function” and “free ellipsoidal reflector headlamps," expanding the horizon of automobile design, serving as the pioneer of current trends. Furthermore, Stanley has started paying attention to the potential of ultra high brightness light emitting diodes (LED’s) as a light source for automobiles from their early stage and commercialized “LED high-mount stop lamps,” which are highly effective for the prevention of rear-end collisions with other cars in addition to “LED rear combination lamps.”

Headlamps

Ensuring forward visibility for the driver and notifying the presence of the car, headlamps are items indispensable for driving in the dark and, at the same time, assume a key role in the design as part of the frontal design of the vehicle. Headlines have continually evolved toward further brightness, beauty and safety, and light sources have shifted from incandescent lamps to halogen lamps. And now there are high intensity discharge (HID) lamps emitting light close to that of the sun. Casings have also diversified from conventional lens-cut types to multi-reflector (MR) headlamps of Stanley's original design, projector and free ellipsoidal types.
In recent years, we have accelerated the development of LED head lamps that are kind to the environment.

AFS

The adaptive front-lighting system (AFS) is a headlamp orientation control system that aligns the headlamps to the steering angle and shines light in the direction being traveled during cornering to provide better visibility. This system enables an improvement in safety during nighttime driving and a reduction of accidents.

Rear combination lamps

Rear combination lamps functionally integrate communication signals from rear lights to inform the presence of the car to other cars behind it, stop lamps indicate that the brake is activated, turn signal lamps give a flashing warning light on the side of the vehicle toward the direction which will be made and backup lamps assure the safety of the rear side of the car and indicate that the vehicle is moving backwards. Combination lamps offer safety, high functionality and an excellent design. Stanley seeks to realize ideal lamps driven by cutting-edge technology.

High mount stop lamps

High mount stop lamps warn vehicles not directly in the rear that the brake is activated and play an important role in preventing rear-end collisions.
High mount stop lamps have quickly become popular since they became obligatory in the US in 1985. Applying highly bright LEDs of the original design to the lamp's light sources, Stanley created the first-in-the-world LED high mount stop lamps ten years ago. It is now employed globally, contributing to safe driving.

Fog lamps/Rear fog lamps

In fog and other adverse weather conditions, these lamps enable a lower and closer visibility of the road ahead than that of headlights and prevent delays in seeing obstacles or the lights of oncoming vehicles.

Night view systems

The system uses near infrared rays to display road conditions in the distance that are difficult to visually recognize with low beams and supports drivers to see much better to enhance nighttime driving safety.

Drive recorder

A drive recorder, which can record the image at the time of an accident. It also records the time of the accidents with a picture revision function.

Headlamps

Headlamps of motorcycles require technologies to make full use of light distribution performance while adjusting to behavior and changes of the motorcycle such as at the time of banking. Lamps are also considered an important part of vehicle design. Stanley continues to contribute to the development to help safety, design and energy saving.

Tail lamps

Within their limited sizes, we seek to optimize the safety and design of tail lamps. In recent years, the employment of LEDs has made sizes thinner and lighting responses quicker, contributing to superiority in layout, safety and low power consumption of vehicles. Stanley is committed to pursuing ideal lamps toward further enhancement.

Turn lamps

Turn lamps assume an important role in assuring safety for two wheel vehicles with high mobility. These lamps must be highly visible while being compact in size and sophisticated in design. Through implementation with LEDs, Stanley seeks to improve the safety, size and design.
